Chamber e-Reminder

The Scams Continue

Don’t let your guard down but, don’t let it get you down either.  The simple rule of thumb is still: “Never issue a refund until the check has cleared and the money is in your account”.   While a disturbing number of members have reported activity in our area, this simple rule has prevented anyone from loosing money to these scammers as far as we know.

If you are interested in reading some of the other e-mail examples we have received, log onto our members’ site at  www.DoorCountyChamber.org and, upon entering the main page, go down the left menu bar and look for “Fraud & Scams” .  If you’ve been contacted by anyone suspicious, let us know.

If we work together, we can outwit anyone dumb enough to try.   http://www.doorcountychamber.org/Business_Watch_Info/Business_Watch_Info.htm

What’s going on this Week-end

Believe it or not, I truly appreciate your feedback and, I heard that many of you like to be able to print out our upcoming schedules so, I ran a search on DoorCounty.com and created two PDF’s for this week.  One for this week-end: http://www.doorcountychamber.org/Activites_Events/Events%20June8-13.pdf

And the other for during the upcoming week: http://www.doorcountychamber.org/Activites_Events/Events%20June13-17.pdf

Let me know if that helps. Phil   phil@doorcounty.com

Details

You can’t imagine how frustrated I feel when I come across page after page of incomplete information on member web pages – both InnLine and private sites.  Typically I have enough time to reach out and fix these problems or, at least make you aware of them but lately I can’t keep up with everything I see.

Please, I need you to visit your own InnLine pages and web sites and make sure your information is complete and correct.  Say “No” to missing pictures or invalid e-mail addresses.  Say “No” to out of date Vacancy Calendars and, say “No” to not making the most of your Chamber membership.  You have a dedicated staff ready to help in any way we can but, you have to help us, help you.

If you come across any missing or incorrect information online or, want to Brainstorm other ways to promote your business, please don’t hesitate to contact any one of your Chamber staff members.  We’re here to help!  A directory of staff members – With Photos – is available on DoorCountyChamber.org at: http://www.doorcountychamber.org/Chamber_Staff/chamber_staff_photos.htm

I hope I didn’t forget anything - There’s a whole lot more at www.DoorCountyChamber.org

Here’s to the start of a great season!

Sincerely,

Phil

P.S. Are your neighboring businesses a part of our team?  If not, let them know that much of the information they need to learn about becoming a member – and, what we have to offer - is available on DoorCountyChamber.org or, simply by giving us a call.
