Chamber e-Reminder

May we be of assistance?

Did you know that our Visitor Center Staff would LOVE to answer your customer’s “Vacation Planning” e-mail?  It’s true!  We realize that you don’t always have time to reply to these lengthy questionnaires and we would like to help.   Simply forward the e-mail to info@doorcounty.com and a member of our Visitor Center Staff will reply to your customer that same day – if not immediately.   If you’re on the phone, have them call us at: 1-800-52RELAX  (800-527-3529) to speak to a real person during our business hours – or, visit www.DoorCounty.com for information day or night, 365 days a year.

We’re here to help.

Keeping up with the Geeks

I’ll never forget the day I needed help with my first website – about 10 years ago.  Sensing my dire need, the technician on the phone stopped and mustered up the disclosure that, while he was available for an office call, he would need a ride – because he was 13!

Today, people of every age are online and it’s not just for fun – it’s how they do business.  Today we received an e-mail from someone who, upon searching our site for lodging in August, e-mailed 3 properties (who showed availability) but, didn’t receive a single response within 48 hours.  Upon calling the frustration hit a high when all 3 properties confessed to “Not getting around to updating the information”.

To quote from the complaint:  “PLEASE HELP YOUR CONSTITUENTS UNDERSTAND THAT THE WEB IS USELESS IF THEIR INFORMATION IS INACCURATE.  AND, IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO ANSWER EMAIL INQUIRIES, THEY SHOULD NOT BE LISTED.”  ---A.W., St. Louis MO

Fortunately, the Visitor Center was able to turn this situation around and a thank you was received with this note: “Thank you for understanding my frustration!  I'm pushing 60 and expect everyone in my generation to be a bit of a webhead.”

Whether you, or someone you know, needs help understanding how the web works; how to take better advantage of it; or, need assistance updating an InnLine page – we are here to help.   Feel free to contact me: Phil  phil@doorcounty.com or, if you have a technical InnLine question, feel free to contact Cathy Lynch at: cathy@doorcounty.com

Thank You

Please know that a day doesn’t go by without any number of us mentioning how much we appreciate your support and participation.  It’s very rewarding to work within an organization built upon community cooperation and we could never accomplish all that we do - without all of you.

Have a great Week-end!

Sincerely,

Your Door County Chamber of Commerce
