In exchange for your support, we are
always looking for ways to promote our members - Here are just a few
of our most popular marketing opportunities...
View as a Checklist
VISITOR CENTER: Wrapped in
the charm of an old country home, the rocking chairs that grace the
front porch of our Visitor Center are a reminder to many that they
have arrived. During our cooler months a warm fire glows in our
hearth with the scent of cider or hot coffee inviting them to take
their time as they browse through your brochure. Our staff is
always there to answer questions and help them find their way around
our County. As the only organization dedicated to promoting Door
County as a single destination, we work hard to promote the entire
County to our guests and let them know with enthusiasm just how easy
it is to make your way around. Approximately 40,000 visitors
enter our lobby annually and our Visitor Center Staff answers
approximately 22,900 e-mail inquiries in addition to tens of thousands
of phone calls they receive each year.

1-800-52-RELAX: Our Toll Free
Line is answered by friendly, experienced staff who are always ready
to help in any way that they can. Their goal isn't complete
until our callers have everything they need to make their plans to
visit Door County - including an offer to send them an Official
Vacation Planner and an invitation to visit our website for more
information.
DOORCOUNTY.COM:
Backed by a $1.5 Million marketing budget and combined with the features of InnLine, our website is the most
complete resources for Door County travel information. We are
continually working to improve our site as more and more of our
visitors turn to the web for their travel information needs. In
fact, The Chicago Tribute Travel Section recently said that the Door
County Visitor Center were among the "Best Responders" to inquiries
via the Web. We're not going to stop there.

Explanation of Web Stats
The "Visits" report shows
the number of visitor sessions—or "visits"—to DoorCounty.com during
the specified report period. A visit refers to a series of requests
from a uniquely identified client. A visit starts with the first
request from the client and remains active as long as the period
between subsequent requests from the client does not exceed a set
"time-out" period (15 minutes). After a visit "times out", LiveStats
counts a request from the same client as the start of a new visit.
The "Page Views" report
shows the number of successful requests for pages logged during the
specified report period. A page is any file - such as a web page,
dynamic web page, form - classified as a page by the Virtual Server
Administrator.
The "Hits" number tracks
the number of requests for files - or "hits" - logged during the
specified report period. A "hit" is any request on your web server for
any file, such as a web page, bitmap, CGI, or header request. For
example, if a visitor wants to see a web page containing two images,
they must make three hits: one hit for the page, and two for the image
files.

THE WINTER ACTIVITY GUIDE: One
of the main reasons for not visiting Door County in the winter is the
fear of finding Nothing Open. To help remove this fear, our
brilliant Visitor Center staff has worked to compile an extensive list
of activities and businesses available to our guests during the "off"
season. This simple, yet complete, guide offers the confidence
of published Winter Hours and avoids the frustration of traveling to a
destination to find that they are now closed. Questions about
the
Winter Activity Guide should be directed to our Visitor
Center at: info@doorcounty.com
or by calling 743-4456

SEASONAL PROMOTIONS: As part of our
current mission to establish a more stable and sustainable local
economy, the Door County Visitor Bureau was charged with the task of
promoting the shoulder and off seasons of our area to balance out the
year and lessen the intense impact of the overcrowded summer months.
To accomplish this goal,
Seasonal Promotions have been created to
bring out the unique qualities of each season. A good example of
this is our Festival of Blossoms. Years ago, only a few
businesses were so adventurous as to open as early as Memorial Day
Week-end and, even then, tourists were few and far between until the
4th of July. Since the advent of the Festival of Blossoms,
thousands have started making an annual trip to see the magnificent
blooms that blanket our landscape - as early as April.
